Jacksonville State College (now Jacksonville State University) announced in the September 20, 1965 Collegian the name for the new women's dormitory. It was completed in the fall of 1964 and was decided to be called Weatherly Hall in honor of Miss Florence Weatherly, secretary to the president from 1906 until the early 1930s. This new building was part of an expansion program planned to help upgrade student education in the northeast Alabama area. Shown here is construction of the dormitory.
